Are you a digital nomad or remote worker? Always on the hunt for the perfect work spot in San Juan, Puerto Rico? Look no further! As a seasoned remote worker with a passion for exploring new places, I’ve spent the past few years scouring the city for the best coffee shops and restaurants to work from. And let me tell you, there’s no shortage of amazing remote work locations in Puerto Rico.

From cozy coffee shops with the perfect vibe to restaurants with delicious food and reliable Wi-Fi, there’s something for every type of remote worker here. And as someone who has traveled extensively while working remotely, I can confidently say that these are my coffee shops and restaurants in the area.

So, whether you’re a freelancer, entrepreneur, or remote employee, here’s 5 remote work locations in San Juan, Puerto Rico to choose from. From popular local spots to hidden gems, this list has got you covered. Let’s get to it!

1. Gustos Coffee Co

Gustos Coffee Co is a local coffee shop and roaster known for its high-quality coffee beans and signature drinks. With breakfast and lunch served Monday to Saturday from 7:30am – 5pm, this spot is perfect for a productive morning or afternoon of work. While plugs are limited and there’s no Wi-Fi, the background noise and busy atmosphere make it a great spot to focus. Just remember to bring your hotspot!

2. Rosa and Elena

Just a few steps away from Gustos Coffee Co, Rosa and Elena is another local spot that’s perfect for a couple of hours of remote work. With pretty aesthetics, good food, and reliable Wi-Fi, it’s the ideal spot for a working session. However, it can get busy during lunch, so I recommend arriving early and leaving before the lunch rush.

3. La Teoría

Located in Condado, La Teoría is a hybrid specialty coffee shop that also has a full whiskey and cocktail bar. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 10pm, this spot is perfect for any time of day. With a dog-friendly atmosphere, free printer and Wi-Fi, and a space for poetry, art, and monologues, it’s the ultimate working space.

4. La Hacienda / Hacienda San Pedro

If you’re looking for an outdoor working space surrounded by greenery, then La Hacienda in Miramar is the perfect spot. Trust me on this, you’ll never get tired of the food here. La Hacienda offers a new menu daily and pre-packaged meals to choose from. However, the outlet plugs are hard to come by since all the tables are outside. So remember to bring a hotspot and a fully charged device!

5. La Isla

La Isla is one of my absolute favorite remote work locations in Miramar. It’s not your typical coffee shop, it’s a hidden gem! This unique spot used to be an old church that has been restored into a health and wellness space. It’s a coffee shop, workspace, zero waste shop, and event venue all in one. What more could you ask for? They have everything from delicious coffee and fresh juices to mouthwatering pastries and a full breakfast and lunch menu. The interior is full of greenery, and the Wi-Fi is reliable. Plus, the best part is that you can also shop their zero waste store while you’re there!

All in all, San Juan, Puerto Rico has plenty of remote work locations that cater to all needs. Whether you’re looking for a busy atmosphere or a quiet outdoor spot, there’s something for everyone. So, pack your laptop, grab your charger and find your perfect spot to work remotely in!
